Trying to update this using a Playbook is not enjoyable.

Thank you for all the fond memories over the last school year.  There are simply too many to list.  Enjoy your summer since it will fly by quicker than you think.  Challenge yourself to try one new thing, which doesn't include breaking a bone.  Yes, I will look into the darkness, plug my nose and try yogurt.  See you in the hallway next year.  Now, have a great summer you silly monkeys.

Thanks for the cards and gifts today.  It was unexpected.  Thank you for your kindness and kind words.  Thanks to Abbey for making a lovely card, with a monkey riding a bike.  She assures me that it was not me, but a monkey, on the bike.  

Thanks also to Abi (and her mom) for the surprise McFries at lunch time today.

Yes, you have one more day of Room 214.  Colour House Assembly is tomorrow at 1030, so throw on your colours and wear them with pride.

Great day yesterday at the Toronto Zoo.  Your kids were awesome.  Thanks to all who came along with the class to help make everything possible.

Sorry, but there isn't a reading comprehension exercise this week, just math.  The photocopier was not liking me at all this week.  Math test will be coming home on Monday.  Rain on a P. A. Day.  There should be a law against that sort of thing.

Canadian cyclist Ryder Hesjedal has triumphed at the Giro d’Italia, clawing back crucial time in the final stage through the streets of Milan to win the three-week race by 16 seconds.  He is the first ever Canadian to do so.  Chapeau!

We have a math test (geometry) on Monday.  The class received review sheets today, which we worked on for fifty minutes this afternoon.

The kids had a wildlife presentation this afternoon.  

According to administration, an eighty percent participation rate is required for a field trip.  Please return your "trial balloon" sheet by Friday with a yes or a no.

Well, the rain held off and the track and field day was held.  It was a long day of running, jumping, and grabbing some ribbons.  The grade fives received some praise for the mannerly behaviour during the events.  Well done!

The 1500 metre race will be held May 2 at the end of the day (1500 hours).

Make sure your math homework from Monday is done.

Great job dancing at the Colour House Assembly this morning.

Undergrounders arrived today.  Cora didn't scare Rusty at the door.  I'll bring them (two copies) to school on Monday, and Evan gets first crack at them.

Monday is Track and Field day, so dress accordingly.

In the spirit of Paperless Week, we are not going to get the weekly math and reading comprehension sheets.

We started DRA today, completing the DRA Student Reading Survey.

Tomorrow afternoon we have Fitness Frenzy.  Get ready to sweat.

A few of the boys in class have shown interest in Undergrounders by David Skuy.  I have ordered a couple of copies from the folks at Amazon.

The Students' Council is planning a Fitness Frenzy for the grade 4 - 8 students on Wednesday, April 25, 2012. Please note the following information that will have an impact on the general school population:

1. Fitness Frenzy will run from 1:00pm - 3:00pm (1/2 hour sessions with 10 minute water/transition breaks in between)

2. Fitness Frenzy locations will include: the gymnasium, the activity room, the library and the music room with several stations planned for outside. (Sorry for any planning challenges that this may cause)

3. Sessions and/or transition times will run through the afternoon recess break. Please note that the Primary field and the Primary climbers will NOT be affected by these activities and can be utilized during the recess break time.

4. Students and any participating staff need to remember to dress appropriately for the fitness activities, wear proper footwear, bring extra water and pack a beach towel IF your class is scheduled for a yoga session that will take place in the library.

Next Monday is the Dance Festival.  About half the class is participating in this event.  Melina, our student council president, commented on your, meaning the class's, fabulous school spirit.  Well done 214!

Math tests were returned.  Class average was 61%.  Re-test will be on Friday, April 20 Tuesday, April 24, since the dance festival is on Monday.  Review sheets available on Wednesday.
